In 2016, internationally active foundations, associations and NGOs founded the Education Sub-Saharan Africa initiative (ESSA). The aim is to promote Africa’s development by expanding the education system. TSF supports the conception of a “Scholarship Impact Hub,” a platform for managing and developing the range of scholarships in Africa. To date, there has been a lack of transparency in terms of many existing scholarships and there is currently no overall coordination or system for evaluation success. The creation of a scholarship platform which encompasses all countries and universities is designed to close this gap. The goal is to improve the impact of existing funding programmes and to encourage further investment in similar initiatives.
