THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION is the funding organisation of SCHAUWERK Sindelfingen, a museum for contemporary art. Paintings, sculptures, photography and installations of 19th and 20th century art are shown in changing exhibitions. The starting point is the collection of Peter Schaufler (1940-2015) and Christiane Schaufler-Münch, which comprises over 3,500 works. Loans from other museums and private collectors are also integrated into large special exhibitions. German and international artists are represented in the collection, including great names such as Georg Baselitz, Anselm Kiefer, Katharina Grosse and Anish Kapoor. Works by the ZERO movement and its pioneers such as Lucio Fontana were among the collectors' first acquisitions. Other focal points are contemporary photography, minimal art and conceptual art.The museum offers educational programmes for various target groups.
