Art of Compression – Kolloquium 2018

“Moving Boundaries in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps (RACHP) – Outlook into the Future” was the motto of the “Art of Compression” 2018. The international colloquium provided an ideal platform for numerous scientists to discuss the industry’s current issues and to exchange thoughts on their future development. An exciting topic, for example, was the impact of the European Union's F-Gas Regulation on refrigerants. According to the regulation, the use of F-gases must be reduced by 30 percent from 2018, based on the average consumption from 2009 to 2012. This is calculated on the basis of the amount of refrigerant used and its global warming potential.

The speakers of the “Art of Compression” included, among others, Professor Dr.-Ing. Ullrich Hesse and Professor Dr. Christoph Haberstroh, both of Dresden University of Technology, Professor Dr.-Ing. Michael Kauffeld, University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe, and Barbara Bergmann, Director of the SCHAUWERK Sindelfingen. In the concluding podium discussion (picture left), the theses on the future of refrigeration and air conditioning technology were further deepened and discussed with the audience.
